Do Hoang Tuong

Do Hoang Tuong is born in 1960 in Quang Nam.

He has graduated from the Fine Arts Academy of HCMC in 1979 and then of the University of Fine Arts in 1984. He started exhibitions in Vietnam in 1986. In 1989, he showed his works at the Vietnam House in Paris and a second exhibition took place in 1991.

Then, it will be Malaysia and Tokyo in 1994, Tokyo, Singapore, Denmark and Holland in 1995 and in 1996, Tokyo, Manila and MEKONG 96 in Switzerland.

He won the third price of the H&S contest with his painting “family” which quite brightly illustrates the main theme of the contest.

Do Hoang Tuong is becoming more and more abstract in his search to reach the essence of soul, pain and loneliness.

His style has evolved since the late 2000s into a diversified but painful expression – in Bacon’s style. Incomplete or distorted faces from which emerges a real discomfort.
Many galleries exhibit his works including in the United States and its quote in auction rooms keeps climbing.
