Ho Huu Thu

Ho Huu Tu is born in 1940 in the province of Nghe An.

Graduated from the Fine Art Academy of HCMC in 1964, he will teach the art of painting there until 1975.

Ho Huu Tu is special in the way that he likes very large paintings and he is a master of lacquer paintings, a true Vietnamese feature in art in general. He exposed his work in many places including Singapore and Malaysia in 1992, in Singapore in 1993, in Paris in 1994, in Tokyo in 1996 and in Singapore again in 1999.

This artist accepted to be a member of the H&S Jury and therefore his paintings did not participate in the contest. Sure that he would have been among the very first because his paintings are so well balance in forms and colours.

He continued in a very personal style, enigmatic but of high plastic beauty. Ho Huu Thu is a master in the management of space and colour harmony. Works that are available in auction room are highly sought after and are sold at remarkable prices.
