La Hon

La Hon is born in 1945 in Gia Dinh (HCMC).
He will expose his work many times across the country.
concours, FamilleBeing very appreciated from foreign countries, he will win several prices and among those the second price of an exhibition organised by the UNESCO in 1996. He will present his work in Tokyo and in Bangkok during the same year of 1996.
In 1992, he has participated in a group exhibition in Singapore.

With his painting “Family”, La Hon has been granted with the second price of the H&S contest. This painting is at the same time reassuring and extraordinary. Reassuring because of the so-called classic trilogy representation of the family structure and extraordinary by the richness of the light, the absence of hair and the representation of an environment of desolation characterized by disorganised geometry. La Hon is a master of “dark” painting and his way of seeing things as well as his permanence in this style make him a very particular artist.

His son La Nhu Lan exhibited works of high quality with his father in the Phuong May gallery in HCMC in 2008.
La Hon, however, seems to have given up the obscurity of the great works of the year 1997.
