Nguyen Thanh Binh

Nguyen Thanh Binh is born in Hanoi in 1954. After graduating from the Fine Arts Academy of Hanoi in 1972 he moves to Saigon and obtains his diploma from the Fine Arts Academy in 1983.
He participates in a great number of exhibitions in the whole country. His fame doesn’t stop to grow notably with the tremendous work done since 1995 by the La Vong Gallery in Hong Kong. In 1991 he exposes in Paris and in 1993 in Singapore. He also participates in the international exhibition of Hong Kong “Art Asia 1995” and in the Mekong 1995 and 1996 organised in Switzerland.
His work is touched by true poetry and sobriety. The recurrent theme of the “stylish” woman, the pastel colours used, the tranquillity and wisdom that come out of his paintings have created a style “THAN BINH” of his own, very recognizable and very personal. One of the H&S paintings shows very well his great ability to evoke the principle subject by its absence. Two empty chairs, a hat, an apple and everything is said on the couple and its paradoxes.

Since 1998, he participated in numerous exhibitions abroad (Hong Kong, UK, USA, Australia, Dubai, Japan). It is exhibited in no less than 17 renowned galleries and some paintings were sold at prices above $ 35,000. Unlike other artists, Thanh Binh remains faithful to his style perfectly identifiable.
